For some people, a pop of color on their eyelids is as far as their experimentation with makeup will go.
But for Frederike Scheibe, eyelids are just a canvas for some truly incredible works of art.
The German makeup artist, who goes by @rischny on Instagram, has racked up 45,000 followers for her incredible makeup looks — including eyelid designs depicting food, animals, and scenes from pop culture.

Frederike has been building up an Instagram following since October of 2016, posting tons of photos of her stunning beauty looks.
She uses loads of popular products from brands like Kylie Cosmetics, Anastasia Beverly Hills, Jeffree Star Cosmetics, Lime Crime, Half Caked, Boldface Makeup, Sugarpill Cosmetics, Technic Cosmetics, Huda Beauty, and more.
And she’ll certainly use them in a traditional way, giving herself a bold red pout or a sexy smoky eye.
But she’ll also give herself a cheesy eye. Or a toothy eye. Or a Genie-from-Aladdin eye.
That’s because Frederike’s real specialty is eyelid art. Fans flock in the thousands to like her images of incredible paintings she does on her own eyelids.

Pretty: The talented makeup artist will show off her whole face, too, but eyelid art appears to be her specialty

Celebrate! She’ll do themed lids for the holidays, like Easter (left) and Christmas (right)

Online inspo: After seeing a very cute unicorn cake, she drew it on her eyelid

Silver screen: She also takes cues from movies, like the Lion King (left) and The Nutcracker and the Four Realms (right)

Disnified! She recently painted the Genie from Aladdin on her eye

Pop culture: She also looks to television for ideas, like Spongebob (left) and American Dad (right)
The skilled artist won’t just apply eyeshadow or liner in the normal way, but will draw images of cartoons, food, or scenery from her lash line to her brows.
In the past week alone, she’s painted Venus fly traps from Super Mario Bros., characters from the show American Dad, a scene from the movie Pets 2, and a starfish on a glistening blue wave.
She’s paid homage to cartoons, with eyes dedicated to Spongebob Squarepants, Aladdin, Pikachu, and the Lion King.
Some of her lid work centers on food, like slices of watermelon, a unicorn cake, sushi, and a cupcake.
There have been animals, too, including a sloth, a flamingo, lobsters, and a mouse with cheese.

Artsy: Not everything is from pop culture — she also turned her lid into a chess set

Variety: She’s painted Marilyn Monroe (left) and watermelon (right)

Mixing it up: She uses loads of popular products from brands like Kylie Cosmetics, Anastasia Beverly Hills, Jeffree Star Cosmetics, Lime Crime, Half Caked, and Boldface Makeup

Intricate: Pictured left is her take on sushi eyes, and right is Detective Pikachu

Talent: She even turned her lid into a piece of cheese with a cute little mouse on it
She’s done themed lids for holidays like Easter, Christmas, and Halloween, and plays around with more random subjects like teeth and toothbrushes, emojis, a chess set, and Marilyn Monroe.
Frederike sometimes posts photos of her full face with makeup, too, sometimes done up just to look pretty and sometimes with art all over her cheese, lips, and forehead.
She’s branched out to other social media platforms, too, and for the past year has posted some tutorials on YouTube.
She has grown so popular that some fans are posting their own eyelid art inspired by things she’s done, copying her cupcake and Pikachu lids on their own faces.
